The Insitute for Advancing Unity will lead a featured workshop, "Using extraORDINARY Stories to Inspire and Empower Students," at the upcoming UC Davis CRESS Center Equity Summit; Theme: Policy, Pedagogy, and Power in California's Schools and Communities.

The workshop will take place April 30, 2011 from 11:00am - 12:15pm at the UC Davis Conference Center in Conference Center Room B.

The School of Education's CRESS Center and its partners will hosted the Second Annual Capital Region Equity Summit on April 30, 2011. Last year, more than 300 people got together to initiate a regional equity consortium and create an agenda for our schools and communities. Together, we examine racialized expectations, achievement and equity in today's schools. Check back often for more details.

Equity Summit Workshop Proposal

The UC Davis School of Education CRESS Center would like to invite you to submit a proposal to present at the 2nd Annual Capital Region Equity Summit: Policy Pedagogy and Power in California's Schools and Communities.

Submission Directions: Please provide the following information if you would like to conduct a workshop and/or present research at the upcoming Equity Summit at UC Davis on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Email/attach this presenter information sheet and proposal outline to Dr. Vajra Watson , Attention: Equity Summit Proposal. Deadline for Proposal Submission is Tuesday, March 1st'

A committee will review all proposals. Selections will be made by March 16th.

2011 Capital Region Equity Summit Exhibitor Application Form

Participate, as an Equity Summit Exhibitor
Exhibiting is your chance to showcase your organization, product or project to over 300 Capital Region educators, youth leaders, program coordinators, and representatives from community-based organizations. Conference participants are interested in the latest education, communications, and consulting tools and techniques, to enhance educational programming in K-12, higher education, and community-based organization settings.

Deadline for PO confirmations is April 15th.
Once your PO has been confirmed, attendees will receive an entrance confirmation letter. This confirmation will need to be presented at registration.
